Meet UIS – Video Conference and Online Meeting Platform of the University of East Sarajevo

https://meet.ues.rs.ba/ represents the official video conference platform of the University of East Sarajevo, based on Jitsi Meet technology (open, free and without the need for software installation).

This platform enables organizing and participating in online meetings, lectures, online classes, exams, scientific conferences, seminars and other video activities without the need for external services such as Zoom or Teams.

Main purposes and capabilities of the platform:

  • Creating and joining video rooms (meetings) via direct link (e.g. https://meet.ues.rs.ba/ime-sobe)
  • Video and audio communication in real time (multiple participants simultaneously)
  • Screen sharing for presentations, demonstrations or work on documents
  • Chat (text messages) within the room
  • Meeting recording (option available depending on server configuration)
  • Support for large number of participants (depending on server load)
  • Access without registration or login – anyone can create or join a room just by entering a name (guest access)
  • Ability to set password for room for privacy and access control
  • Support for mobile devices (via web browser or Jitsi Meet application)
  • Integration with other University systems (e.g. links are often sent via eUIS, e-mail or announcements)

The platform is intended for students, teaching and non-teaching staff, researchers and guests of the University of East Sarajevo. It was intensively used during the pandemic for online teaching, and today serves for hybrid meetings, thesis defenses, promotions, scientific conferences and administrative meetings.

System Access

  • On the page https://meet.ues.rs.ba/ there is a classic Jitsi Meet interface: field for entering room name (or direct creation of new one) and button for joining.
  • No login required for basic access – enter name (or leave guest) and click „Start meeting“ / „Join meeting“.
  • To create a private room: enter room name, set password (optional) and share link with participants.
  • University Computer Center maintains the server, so the platform is optimized for internal use (better quality and stability within the University network).
