This service enables the definition of server and domain names that uniquely determine naming on the Internet (e.g. oj.ues.rs.ba). Organizational units have the possibility to host their Internet domains on 'DNS' servers at UCCES. UCCES sets up the domain of the organizational unit and technically maintains it.
Primary 'DNS' service refers to all those organizational units that are not technically capable of setting up this service in a satisfactory manner on their location, whether due to lack of server or administrator, etc. In this case, the common interest is to create conditions for the transfer of the server to the jurisdiction of the given organizational unit, i.e. that the organizational unit gains the possibility of full control and responsibility for its maintenance. In this, they will have the full support of UCCES.
Secondary 'DNS' service refers to all organizational units that serves as a redundant service in relation to the primary 'DNS' service that is under the jurisdiction of individual organizational units.
Activities within this service by UCCES are:
- maintenance of full functionality of 'DNS' service in the domain hierarchy;
- performing service monitoring;
- protection of servers from viruses and unauthorized users;
- care for regular 'backup' of data,
- technical support and performing consultations.
